Welcome to Ryedale School. As one of the leading comprehensive schools in England, we consistently secure exceptional outcomes for our students. Building on our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ judgement, we are continually developing and improving the educational experience for all learners. Our dynamic and inspirational team of staff delivers a high-quality learning experience, where every student has the opportunity to excel.
There is a strong partnership between students, parents, staff and governors who work together to provide the very best possible support to achieve our shared goals. We have established a creative and inclusive atmosphere in which individual talents are nurtured and allowed to flourish. Our extensive range of extra-curricular activities develop skills, interests, relationships, and, most importantly, students’ enjoyment of school, life, and learning.
High expectations and traditional values are hallmarks of our school. The Ryedale Values of Honesty, Kindness and Respect are woven into the fabric of our community and exemplified by all. We encourage our students to Be Curious and to Work Hard in their learning; we place high importance on attitude to learning as we understand that if we can support our students to get this right, success will follow in all aspects of school life.
The Ryedale Learning Trust, established in February 2021 (formally the Ryedale Federation), facilitates close partnership working between ourselves and three of our feeder primary schools. Through this exciting collaboration, we are improving the continuity in learning between the key stages, thus enhancing the educational provision we offer, and ensuring we are best placed to support student progress In Year 7 and beyond.
